Macarena Llambí has more than 15 years’ experience as a Creative Director and Copywriter in South America. In 2001 she graduated as Licentiate in Social Communication, with a degree in Advertising from the Catholic University of Uruguay (Universidad Católica del Uruguay).
Throughout her career she has worked with some of the most prominant local and international advertising agencies; Publicis Impetu, Alquimia, DDB, Grey, Publicis Equador and Notable Publicidad.
In 2010, she started working internationally at Publicitas Saatchi and Saatchi as a Creative Director for Nestlé in Quito.
In 2011, Publicis WW Equador launched its operations, becoming the first 100% international agency. Macarena joined the company, responsible for forming and building her own creative team. She continued to work for Nestlé, leading their brands such as Nido, La Lechera, Maggi, Nestea, La Vaquita, and others. She also participated successfully in various agency pitches.
Four years later in 2014, she returned to Uruguay after being offered the opportunity to work in one of the most renowned advertising agencies in Montevideo: Notable Publicidad. There she worked as Creative Director for Conaprole (the largest Uruguayan dairy company), El País (one of the leading newspapers), República AFAP, and Mitsubishi.
One of her greatest passions as a Creative Director is to lead and stimulate her team, bring out the best in each member of the team and achieving a great joint effort and team result. She demands efficiency from the people around her, pushing them to stand out and build a great portfolio while at the agency which will allow them to accumulate useful experience in their careers.
Furthermore, in her role as Creative Director, she enjoys working with a team on planning, accounts, and specifically with the client, who she needs to surprise and satisfy with her work. She believes the team dynamics is what achieves the best results. Beyond the typical differences between the areas, the goal is a shared one: that the project has the success which it seeks. For that to happen, everyone must be involved and committed.
Throughout her career she has won several awards in creative festivals along with teaching at Brother Creativity School (Brother Escuela de Creativos) in Uruguay.
In 2015 she moved to Tampa with her husband and new born son. Now established in Florida and with two children, Macarena is ready to return to the challenges in creativity which she so loves.
She has recently collaborated as a blogger, writing notes for the brand Baby Dove Uruguay on her site mamilmaneras.com.uy.
